AAAC has a successful International Nursing Exchange Program between the City of Chicago and China. Beginning in 2012, almost 1,000 nursing students and teachers from China have spent several weeks in health science classes and hospitals in Chicago. The purpose of this program is to bring global awareness to Chinese nurses and provide the opportunity to understand and learn about the U.S. health care system and education. They can take everything they have learned and bring it home with them to help local residents as well as foreign residents and visitors.
The program includes:
- Observing health science classes including interactive lab practices
- Touring local hospitals and health institutions
- Certified First Aid training
- CPR Training
For internationally educated nurses (IEN) interested in coming to Illinois, AAAC as an organization has the ability to sponsor students to take the NCLEX exam. We can help with the whole process from credential evaluations to applying for the NCLEX exam.
